“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
This is Jo Lynn's favorite verse and one she lives her life around. Jo Lynn Schlegel is a stay at home, homeschooling mom to two teenage sons, Tristen and Phoenix. She just celebrated her 17th wedding anniversary with her husband Tim, and lives in south central PA
To her, being a mother is a privilege and a gift, one that is not lost on her. The Schlegels always wanted a big family but that was not God's plan. After their last son, Phoenix, was born at 29 weeks, Jo Lynn was diagnosed with a condition where her body could not hold on to full term pregnancies. That resulted in 3 early losses and their last, a sleeping baby boy, Uriah, born at 20 weeks in 2021.
Her sons are most precious to her, and being a mom, teacher, and caregiver to her son Phoenix with his cerebral palsy, are blessings that she gets to do, not things she has to do.
Favorite family activities are going on walks, board games, taking a drive with no place in mind, and motorcycle rides with her husband.
Jo Lynn was saved around the age of 11 at a revival meeting, but it wasn’t until she had a family that her relationship with God started to grow and become real for her. Being a part of a good Bible believing church is very important to her and her family. Jo Lynn and Tim are Jr. Church teachers and are involved in various other ministries as well.
Her favorite Mama Java coffee is Creme Brulee, and she was excited to pick the espresso ground to use in her simple espresso machine. She always has her coffee in the morning while enjoying time with the Lord.
