Sheila Zimmerman has been married to Justin for 3½ years and they live in a cozy home in the woods of Pennsylvania where the leaves are just beginning to change color. Justin works as a mechanic for an agriculture business and enjoys hunting and playing sports. Sheila has enjoyed being a school bus driver for a few years while also being self employed cleaning houses.
That will be put on hold for a while though, as they prepare to welcome their first baby into their home. They are praising the Lord for this new season coming, and Sheila is especially grateful for the gift or a good pregnancy so far. She is excited to enter into motherhood, knowing it is something so many women long for.
Sheila was baptized around the age of 16 and while it was a genuine decision at the time, she felt that a few years later her eyes were truly opened to the beauty of a true relationship with the Lord. While doing mission work in different countries, she was able to see how God was working in the hearts of His people, and this helped her to develop a passion for the kingdom of God in a new way. She is so grateful for those pivotal moments that made her who she is today.
Spending intentional time with Jesus through the Word and prayer each morning is a very important part of Sheila's day but she feels it is important to also bring Him into the small moments throughout the day. Whether it’s asking for grace to help with stress and decisions in the grocery store, telling Him about her troubles that day, or the happy moments too, keeping that open communication with Jesus is a beautiful way she has seen connection with the Lord grow.
Lately God has been teaching Sheila the beauty and freedom in having a heart of gratitude. This seems to go hand in hand with laying down our worries, anxieties and the situations that are out of our control. Sheila has felt a deep sense of peace and joy by focusing on having a grateful heart and leaving the unknowns up to the Lord.
Sheila and Justin enjoy many different types of activities together. Recently they took a little trip to Outer Banks for a getaway before the baby joins them. They really enjoyed the time to relax, connect, and discuss the many changes coming. They are passionate about having a healthy marriage rooted in God, especially as they step into parenthood.
Sheila loves spending time with friends and family, but her favorite way to relax is slow moments at home, sipping on coffee or tea, sitting on the porch swing with a book, or having quality conversations with her husband.
She would say some of her hobbies might be home decor/keeping a simple minimal home or making coffee drinks and practicing latte art.
Her favorite Mama Java coffee is the Espresso Intenso beans. The espresso is so smooth and fresh using these beans and Sheila likes to give a bag of coffee beans as a gift or use them to make lattes for her friends with her trusty little espresso machine.☺️
HI, I enjoyed the post! May God give you continued strength for the journey and rest for your soul. I love how you talk with God even in the grocery store! The leaves are magnificent, we don’t have those in Florida! Thanks for sharing!
