Faith, Family, and Farm Life: Kaylene’s Beautiful Chaos

Kaylene lives in a busy house with her husband Evan and four dear youngsters, ranging in age from nine years old to the youngest at two.  Three are energetic boys and the baby is a sweet girl. She enjoys being their mom, although the noise can be a little overwhelming at times. They can be very helpful and it has definitely gotten quieter during the day since her youngest boy started kindergarten.
Kaylene was never a baby crazy girl, but she does love the excitement and sweetness a new baby brings. With her small house she is constantly kept on her toes to find contentment with the space they have and find ways to make it work for their family.
Evan and Kaylene have a 16 acre property, with a small pasture and some out-buildings. They bought their place after it had sat empty for several years, so it needed a lot of maintenance and repair. The progress has been slow, but she is learning to be thankful for where they are, and is realizing that it doesn't have to be perfect to have joy every day!
It’s enough land to have some animals, and Kaylene loves that aspect of their place. They have two horses that she doesn’t get to ride enough, a dozen chickens, a few sheep, six cats, and four dogs. Evan recently added some yaks to the farm, so that has been an interesting venture for them all. The three yak calves are a real hit.
Kaylene finds that the hardest part of being a mom is juggling the school schedule and also having a toddler. Time management is a daily struggle as she tries to decide what to focus her energy on. But with God's direction and coffee she gets most things done.
She really enjoys the freshness of the Mama Java coffee blend Messy Bun; usually black, but every now and then she uses her Keurig to make a latte. She often saves her cup of coffee to enjoy once the school children have left and the house gets a little calmer for a while.
Kaylene has enjoyed following the journey of the Mama Java company, especially since one of the founders was a girlhood friend! She loves the friendships that can be built over a good cup of coffee and the special times it creates.
Kaylene loves to sew, and spends as much time as possible doing custom sewing or sewing for herself and her family. She enjoys the thrill of trying to create any idea that comes to her. Most of her sewing is kept for the quieter winter months since she also enjoys gardening, yard work, and outside adventures.
She continues to strive as a mama to be present for her family and show them the love of Jesus as she tries to keep everything rolling day to day.
